Hello. I'm Allison McNair. Welcome to this Friday Edition of New Hampshire Outlook.

As one chapter ends for the Roman Catholic Church another is beginning.
Last week Boston Archbishop Cardinal Bernard Law resigned.
Manchester Bishop John McCormack settled its criminal investigation with the State Attorney General.
Thursday, the Manchester diocese settled a 540-Thousand civil case.
Friday, people who say they were victims of a Massachusetts priest asked to meet with McCormack. They and other victims groups say McCormack should resign.
What do we make of this? How can the church move forward?
Joining me from Concord are Norma Love of the Associated PRess and Tom Fahey of the Union Leader. Here in studio, Dan Tuohy of the Foster's Daily Democrat.
Attorney General Phil McLaughlin left this week.
Benson says will take active role in AG's office
What about it?
State offices all over New Hampshire are looking at their budgets. Governor elect Benson has asked everyone to plan for 3-percent less than they had this year. What's on the horizon?
What about the 125-million projected cost of no-child left behind. Some lawmakers are proposing the state fund no more than federal contribution. What does this mean for local communities? Could we actually see cuts in school services?
Look ahead to next week.

MAYBE YOU'VE SEEN OR AT LEAST HEARD ABOUT THE 2002 WOMEN OF TAMWORTH CALENDAR. 13 WOMEN FROM THAT COMMUNITY BARED IT ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE. THE RESULT - 75 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN SALES WENT TO TAMWORTH CHARITIES.
THIS TIME AROUND, MARGO MALLER- ONE OF THE CALENDAR'S CREATORS- THOUGHT THEY'D USE A DIFFERENT APPROACH.

DICK IS ON THE CALENDAR'S COVER. HE'S ALSO THE MONTH OF JULY AND AT 73, HE'S THE SENIOR STATESMAN OF THE GROUP. SO WHAT DOES HE THINK ABOUT HIS PHOTO AND THE OTHERS?
--
SOT Dick
1:18:10I think they look younger. I look at myself in the picture and I say
1:18:15 three's a hundred and ten miles of hard road. annie did the best she could with what she had.
--
ANNIE PROVENZANO IS THE CALENDAR PHOTOGRAPHER. SHE SAYS THE WOMEN OF TAMWORTH WERE A BIT EASIER TO PHOTOGRAPH THAN THE MEN.
--
SOT Annie
2:01:38 I just didn't know where to look I had the camera I was looking thru the lense. I wanted to be able to make them feel comfortable and feel comf too it was a little diff 2:01:52
--BUTT BITE
sot Annie

It was a rather cool day it was the beginning of fly season
And it was fortunate because it was the beginning of black fly season so you can imagine if it had not been a cool day.1:28:30

--
KARL CHOSE A MORE COMFORTABLE LOCATION FOR HIS PICTURE. RATHER THAN SUFFERING THROUGH UNPREDICTABLE OUTDOOR WEATHER, HE CHOOSE A GREENHOUSE, WHICH IS FITTING FOR THE MONTH OF MAY.
--
1:08:15
WHY DID YOU DO THIS?
1:08:18**
Um, well, we had the advantage of seeing the women's calendar come out, and saw how successful it was. And it raised a lot of money. So that was of course, the main thing, the fundraiser. I can't speak for the others, but I don't get pretty women to ask me to take my clothes off very often, so… had to take advantage of that.
--
WHEN YOU REACH DECEMBER , YOU'LL FIND COPE'S PHOTO. HE'S USED TO BEING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. IN ADDITION TO HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH THE BARNSTORMERS THEATRE, HE'S ALSO APPEARED IN MOVIES LIKE - MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE AND IN THE BEDROOM.
---
SOT ME ASKING
1:01:54****
DO YOU FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE SEEN THE CALENDAR MIGHT LOOK AT YOU A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY THAN THEY USED TO?
1:02:02
Yeah! Oh my God. Uh, yeah, people do come up to me and say, "Hey, aren't you December?" Nobody ever comes up and says, "Were you in that movie?" No. But the calendar…In fact, I've signed more calendars than I've signed autographs for being in a show or something like that.1:02:24
BUTT BITE
-
1:01:05
HAVE YOU HEARD FROM ANYBODY AS A RESULT OF DOING THIS THAT YOU HAVEN'T HEARD FROM IN A WHILE?
1:01:10
***Well, my sister said I didn't expose enough. So I was a little upset. And I probably didn't, when I look at the others, I say, "God, they were more daring than I was." 1:0-1:23
--
SO JUST WHAT IS IT ABOUT TAMWORTH - THIS COMMUNITY OF ROUGHLY FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE THAT HAS PRODUCED THE WOMEN OF TAMWORTH CALENDAR AND NOW THE TAMWORTH MEN IN HATS CALENDAR?
--
SOT COPE
***1:05:15
I don't know. It's a strange dichotomy about Tamworth. I think of, in one sense, it can be quite liberal, and in another sense, it can be quite conservative. And yet, the two groups somehow seem to meet and come together and get along with one another. I think it's a great place to live. 1"05;37I really do.
--
SOT dick
1:17:43I can't speak for all the citizenry but there are so many good people here accepting people here. okay he or she is a little weird, but hey aren't we all, hello. 1:18:02
--
SOT Karl
1:09:56It's an interesting comm. Nice mixtures of people. its got a reputation for unusual things happening
--
sot willie
1:26:32
I think people have an open mind in Tamworth. The majority of people can see humor and goodness of things before they just go "oh its terrible, its bad, those guys took their clothes off." we just, that's not what happens in Tamworth. It's a hand up instead of a push down.
